How to export a Meta Ads Manager report as CSV

Export Facebook and Instagram campaign results from Meta Ads Manager as a CSV, broken down by day.

Meta Ads Manager exports whatever the campaigns table is showing, including any breakdown you add.

Steps

  1. In Ads Manager, open the Campaigns tab and choose the date range.
  2. For a workspace import, open Breakdown, then By time, then Day. Skip this for the free report.
  3. Open Reports (top right of the table) and choose Export table data.
  4. Pick .csv and export.

Meta labels spend as Amount spent and conversions as Results (or by event, such as Purchases or Leads). Benchmarketing reads all of these names. If your campaigns optimise for different results, export them separately so one CPA is not an average of a lead and a purchase.

Without a day breakdown, Meta adds "Reporting starts" and "Reporting ends" columns covering the whole range. The free report accepts that; the workspace import asks for one row per day.

Which columns Benchmarketing reads

Needed forColumn (any of these names)
Every reportCost, Spend, Amount spent
CTR and CPMImpressions, Impr.
CTR, CPC and conversion rateClicks, Link clicks
Conversion rate and CPAConversions, Results, Leads, Purchases
ROASConversion value, Conv. value, Purchase conversion value
Daily tracking in the appDay, Date, Reporting starts

Extra columns are ignored, and total or summary rows at the bottom of the file are skipped automatically.

Free report or workspace import?

  • The [free benchmark report](/tools/ad-benchmark-report) accepts any summary export, with or without a date column. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.
  • Importing into your workspace (Integrations, then Import a report) needs one row per day, so add a daily breakdown before exporting. That is what lets the app track your position week by week.
