What happens to your data
Where your report files go, what an import stores, read-only access, and how to delete imported data.

The free benchmark report
The CSV you drop into the free report is read in your browser and never uploaded. A share link carries only the totals you see on screen, not the file.
Workspace imports
Importing a report stores its daily totals (spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and value, per campaign or ad when the file has them) in your workspace so the app can track your position over time. Your numbers are only visible inside your workspace.
Like other workspaces' data, they also count toward Benchmarketing's own industry benchmarks, but only as part of aggregate figures (medians and quartiles) that combine at least 10 companies and never name or identify one. To exclude your workspace, email hello@benchmarketing.org; section 5 of the privacy policy has the details.
Connections
Direct platform connections are read-only by design: Benchmarketing never writes to your ad accounts. They are opening platform by platform as each platform approves access.
Deleting data
Owners and admins can remove a platform's imported data from Integrations. To delete an account and everything in it, use the delete your data page or contact us.
About the figures
Benchmark figures in this article come from the BenchMarketing dataset and update when the benchmark pages do. Each benchmark page lists its sources and period; see our methodology.
